Entering ZM-ILLENNIAL is like stepping into a space with a truly captivating story. Its unique charm comes from its history and a special connection to a global icon. Formerly known as ‘Magnate,’ this beautiful establishment occupies a renovated 50-year-old textile factory.

The cafe seamlessly blends its industrial past with a sleek, contemporary design. High ceilings and an open layout create a spacious feel.

It’s a welcome escape from the bustling city. As a Busan local, I can tell you the sheer scale of this place truly sets it apart.

The moment you walk in, you feel the special atmosphere. This makes it a pilgrimage site for fans. The cafe’s interior feels like a stylish art gallery. Warm lighting illuminates carefully curated art pieces, including a large portrait of BTS’s Jimin himself.

You can’t miss it! Delicate sculptures and thoughtful decor elements fill the space. They create endless photo opportunities. Whether you’re a devoted ARMY or just appreciate a unique and inviting ambiance, ZM-ILLENNIAL offers a stunning backdrop for your memories.

A Taste of Delight at ZM-ILLENNIAL

The atmosphere is captivating, but the menu at ZM-ILLENNIAL is equally worth exploring. I’ve made it a point to try various items. Here are some of my personal recommendations.

The ZM-ILLENNIAL Coffee Experience

For coffee lovers, the Americano is a great starting point. The cafe offers both a “dark” and a “mild” roast. This shows their commitment to different preferences. I personally enjoy the “mild” roast. It has a lovely balance of subtle bitterness and a hint of fruitiness. It has a smooth finish with notes of nuts and chocolate. Served iced, it’s the perfect pick-me-up on a warm Busan day.

Sweet Indulgence

The Vanilla Latte is another winner in my book. It has a clean, natural vanilla flavor without being overly sweet. Its creamy texture and beautiful pale yellow hue make it as pleasing to the eye as it is to the palate. It’s the kind of drink that feels like a comforting treat any time of day.

If you want something refreshing and healthy, the Jeju Gyeollabong Juice is an excellent choice. They make it from 100% freshly squeezed Jeju tangerines. It bursts with a tangy-sweet flavor that’s incredibly invigorating.

Baked Goods at ZM-ILLENNIAL You Can’t Miss

The bakery menu at ZM-ILLENNIAL is a visual and flavorful delight. The cafe displays all the items beautifully. This makes them hard to resist. Here are a few that I found particularly impressive.

First, the Salt Bread here is truly special. It has a perfectly crispy crust and a soft, moist interior. A rich, buttery aroma fills your mouth.

Unlike other salt breads, this one has a cookie crust on top. This adds a unique texture. The combination of savory salt and rich butter makes it a perfect match for an Americano. You won’t forget the flavor if you try it freshly baked in the morning!

My personal favorite, however, is the Sweet Potato Bread. Its texture is so soft and chewy it’s almost like tteok (Korean rice cake). The bread is generously filled with sweet potato. It has a natural sweetness without any added sugar. The fragrant aroma of sweet potato is incredibly comforting. It really shows the cafe’s dedication to highlighting natural flavors.

While I haven’t tried them all, the other bakery items look just as amazing. The An-Butter Croissant has a beautifully flaky crust and a soft interior. The Oreo Milk Cake comes highly recommended for its sweet yet not-too-heavy flavor. You can also buy other delicious options by the slice, like Hallabong Black Tea Cake, Carrot Cake, and Tiramisu. Prices typically range from ₩7,000 to ₩9,000. Keep in mind that popular items sell out quickly. I recommend an early visit for the best selection!

The ZM-ILLENNIAL Connection for ARMYs

For fans of BTS, ZM-ILLENNIAL has an extra layer of significance. Many people know it as a place that BTS’s Jimin has visited. The cafe has a warm and welcoming atmosphere that acknowledges this connection. You will find thoughtful displays of fan art and little mementos.

They create a sense of community among visitors. While it’s not an official BTS-themed cafe, the subtle nods and the understanding among fellow fans make it a unique and heartwarming place to visit in Busan. It’s a key part of the BTS Busan experience. It gives you a chance to feel a little closer to the magic.

A Tip for ARMYs: Keep in mind that ZM-ILLENNIAL can get quite popular, especially around special occasions like Jimin’s birthday. Visiting on a weekday might offer a more relaxed experience.
