Park Hyatt Seoul Review – Gangnam Views, Real Thoughts

Park Hyatt Seoul Review five-star plaque on wooden wall

My Park Hyatt Seoul review is based on a recent 3-night stay in a City View Deluxe Room. As Sophie, a local guide exploring Korea’s hotels, I wanted to share my observations on this urban retreat in Gangnam. This stay combined comfort with impressive views, and consequently, I’m excited for you to discover it.

First Impressions: Arriving at the Park Hyatt Seoul

The Grand Entrance: My Sleek Intro to Urban Sophistication

The hotel’s exterior features a modern glass facade. Its pedestrian entrance, furthermore, is located discreetly next to Exit 1 of Samseong Subway Station (Line 2), offering direct subway access.

Upon entering, I found a lift lobby with a concierge. Bellmen, moreover, were available to assist guests with elevators. This setup, therefore, connects the hotel directly to city transport.

Ascending to the Sky Lobby: My Journey into the Clouds

The main lobby of Park Hyatt Seoul is on the 24th floor, creating a “sky lobby” experience. I took a dedicated elevator directly to the 24th floor, bypassing the guest rooms. This design choice, consequently, positions the lobby to offer city views upon arrival, making the check-in process part of the hotel’s high-rise experience.

A Warm Welcome: My Check-in with a View

On the 24th floor, panoramic city views are visible through the floor-to-ceiling windows. The lobby, with its marble finishes and color accents, is an open, bright space. It also includes The Lounge, a modern Korean restaurant with city views.

My check-in was efficient, and the staff were ready to offer assistance for exploring Seoul. Early check-in, however, is not guaranteed in Korea, though some guests may have better chances. The lobby functions as a reception and lounge area, allowing guests to experience the city views upon arrival. This design, in essence, makes the views accessible to all guests.

Navigating the Hotel: My Journey to Sanctuary

After check-in, I used separate, keycard-only elevators to reach my room. This two-elevator system (ground to 24th-floor lobby, then to room) required two transfers; however, I quickly got used to it.

Wood-panel hallway leading to guest rooms with minimalist lighting

The hallways to the rooms featured warm wood finishes. The hotel design, furthermore, limits rooms to 10 per floor and uses dedicated guest-floor elevators to enhance privacy. This two-elevator system and high-floor lobby are intentional design elements to increase privacy by separating public areas from guest floors, ultimately aiming for a more secluded environment.

The GetYourGuide logo is in the top left corner, with the main text: "DON'T JUST WALK THE STREETS. INVEST ONE DAY FOR A DEEP UNDERSTANDING OF SEOUL." The most impressive feature of my room was the floor-to-ceiling glass windows with panoramic views of Gangnam. From my room, I observed Teheran-ro, the COEX complex, and the illuminated billboards at night. Blackout curtains, however, were available for privacy. The city view, therefore, is a key part of the hotel experience. The hotel’s high location, furthermore, offers a continuous visual connection to Gangnam’s activity, providing opportunities for photos from morning to night. This positions the hotel as an “urban retreat.”

Comfort and Style: Thoughtful Amenities for a Perfect Stay

Adjacent to the pool area, I found a small, comfortable relaxation space. This area also offered great city views, providing a quiet spot to unwind after a swim or workout.
